Domestic workers
A domestic worker visa can be applied for when an employer invites his domestic worker to accompany him/her if he moves to the UK.
To meet the visa requirements the domestic worker will have to prove that they have been working for the employer for at least one year as a driver, gardener, cook, nanny etc.
To be able to submit an application for this type of visa the domestic worker has to meet the following requirements:
- They must be between 18 and 65 years old.
- They must prove that they have been working for the employer abroad for at least one year on a regular basis, living in his/her home.
- They must intend to work full-time for the employer in the UK, living in his/her home.
It is advisable that the domestic worker submits with the visa application a signed agreement between him/her and the employer which states the terms and conditions of employment.
