Tier 1 Investor
Tier 1 (Investor) visa is initially granted for a period of three years. An applicant may be able apply for a visa extension after the initial three years if they meet the relevant requirements. It is possible to apply from abroad for entry clearance as a Tier 1 (Investor) visa or, in some circumstances, you may be able to apply to "switch" immigration status in the UK, depending on which immigration status you hold. Tier 1 (Investor) migrants may eventually acquire indefinite leave to remain and/or British citizenship.
Unlike other Tier 1 categories there is no English language requirement for a Tier 1 (Investor), and so the requirements for Tier 1 (Investor) leave are relatively few.
There are two routes to qualifying for a Tier 1 (Investor) leave, as described below:
1. By having funds of at least 1,000,000 GBP that the applicant owns absolutely, and which is disposable in the UK; or
2. By having net assets of at least 2,000,000 GBP and, in addition having at least 1,000,000 GBP which is disposable in the UK. This may include loan funds from an organisation which is regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority. We may refer you to such organisation.
It is necessary to produce sufficient evidence to prove your financial status.
